Dynamic seating
Changing posture is essential for productive and healthy work.
Seating moves us. This means much more than just rolling from one workspace to the next in a swivel office chair. We are talking about genuine emotions that arise from the direct contact between body and chair. These touches usually happen subconsciously because they are a natural part of sitting for us, but they make a significant contribution to our well-being at work.
What all these moments have in common: The outstanding ergonomics and high quality of a swivel chair make the workplace a positive, reliable place that supports people in their work.
Particularly in the case of desk work, which is otherwise rather sedentary, care should be taken to ensure that the metabolic functions are constantly activated while sitting. Not only to maintain physical fitness, but also to promote mental performance.
Wilkhahn's task chairs do exactly that. Different models offer a wide range of functions.
The range of dynamic seating at Wilkhahn
In increasingly digitalized living and working environments, lack of movement is one of the biggest health challenges. Promoting movement has therefore been the basis of our development for decades: against the mainstream of “posture-fixated” ergonomics, the FS-Line has been celebrating movement sitting in its purest form since 1980. Further movement classics followed with the Stitz sit-stand stool (1991) and the Modus office chair range (1994).
Following intensive collaboration with the German Sport University Cologne, a new chapter in dynamic sitting began in 2009: the ON® office chair, with its three-dimensionally movable Trimension®, taught sitting to “walk” for the first time. As an internationally highly decorated “game changer”, ON® became the model for a new mobility.
All Wilkhahn swivel chairs enable two- or three-dimensional sitting in different ways.
