Schiphol
“It's a home away from home” is the motto of the newly created ‘hub for the business community’ at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, which covers a total of around 8,000 square meters. The interior concept of the new Microsoft headquarters in the Netherlands is even staged as a small town of its own at this international hub: it was named “Micro Polis” by the interior designers at D/Dock and offers an infrastructure with a wide range of options – including attractive spaces for working in changing teams, meeting places for informal exchanges and retreats for physical well-being. A central place for this is “The Stage”, a spacious, flexibly usable auditorium for events.
"The Stage is a hybrid space, it could host theater-like events, presentations, seminars and so on. The space can be completely open or closed off. Because of this flexibility we’ve chosen the Wilkhahn Aula chairs, which have a great design for these kind of functional spaces."
Alexander Tranter, designer at D/DOCK
