Sandburg hotel

Located on the car-free North Sea island of Langeoog in Lower Saxony’s Wattenmeer National Park, the Sandburg hotel offers laid-back luxury to both vacationers and business customers. With its white, classy supporting structure and horizontal ribbons of balconies, the facade is reminiscent of the wooden architecture of oceanside resorts in days gone by. Toward the ocean, a roof patio with an 18-meter-long pool offers a splendid view of the North Sea beach, which is only separated by a sand dune. The designers wanted to create a cozy atmosphere with a modern twist for the interior. The guest rooms and restaurant are all about appealing, light wooden surfaces, colorful paneling on the walls and clear forms.

The symmetrical facade with its terrace, porches and pagoda-like roofs looks like a typical, German oceanside resort on a boardwalk. Photo: Leuchtende Hotelfotografie, Thomas Haberland
