Ankerbrotfabrik / Co-Innovation Factory

A collaboration with architect, artist and designer Claus Schnetzer helped transform the historical factory building in Vienna into a co-innovation factory. The building with the distinctive Ankerbrot sign serves as the entrance point to the new cultural hub. The new Co-Innovation Factory covers 600 square meters of floorspace and is a venue for meetings and talks, office work, workshops, and film screenings. Just like the workshop spaces, the light-flooded auditorium is designed to be equally as multipurpose. Two office spaces, a project room, a small kitchen, a reception and two bathrooms round out the options.

Toward the auditorium and staircase to the meeting room, old server cabinets are used as phone booths and wire crates act as a bar. The Stitz sitting-standing stools combine movement with the chance to relax.

The recessed gallery provides a view of the auditorium, which is also ideal for multifunctional purposes. In this case, it features mobile Timetable Lift tables with battery-operated electrical height adjustment capability. These are used for sitting or standing at, writing on, and holding presentations when the table top is flipped up. Small Confair mobile desks, movable Stand-up stools, flip charts and Confair folding tables round out the setting for groups. At the same time, the furniture can also be used in the adjacent workshop space and temporarily stored there if plenary sessions are taking place.

The entrance section with its in-built cloakroom leads to the center of the building where a saw-tooth roof fills it with light. Around the corner, the appealing setting in the communication area with an Asienta chair and Occo task chair encourages interaction.
