With 192 chair models, extra bar stools and conference tables, Wilkhahn’s best-selling Occo (design: jehs+laub) is one of the most versatile furniture ranges for collaborative and interactive spaces. A new series of 12 exceptionally high-quality Occo Conference chairs (winner of the Red Dot Design Award) now joins the line. The company’s also launching Occo tables with oak base frames to respond to the trend towards natural materials.

Occo Conference can be used anywhere where a chair with a laid-back or prestigious appeal is required. Lobbies, lounges, cafeterias, conference spaces and boardrooms are all ideal destinations. Stuttgart-based designers, Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub, echoed typical characteristics such as the enveloping Occo shell with integrated armrest pads and the cut-out section between the seat and backrest. The aim was to combine a lightweight look and good airflow at the back with the comforting feel of a shell chair. Here, the seat is more comfortably upholstered of course. Because, depending on where it’s located, the upholstery on the two-part, fully upholstered moulded plywood shells has different degrees of firmness. This provides exceptional comfort on the one hand and underscores the clear, stylish form on the other.

The conference and desk chairs with active rocking technology feature carefully modelled, die-cast aluminium star bases, which are optionally matt polished, bright chrome plated or coated in white or black with a textured matt finish. With two backrest heights and six frame variants, the designers have continued the Occo principle. They’ve produced a modular furniture range for all sorts of functions and settings. There’s the classily lightweight or dignified-looking four-leg chair for restaurants, lounges and quiet zones, all the way to stylish stationary or mobile task chairs for comfortable meeting spaces or service areas to dynamic chairs with active rocking technology at prestigious conference tables or executive desks.

The designers rounded off the Occo range with the tables too. The solid wood chair frames have a pleasantly natural look and now the square, round, rectangular and oval tables also come with solid oak tapered legs. The solid wood versions are also available at standing heights so that the bar stools can be paired with the table to match as well. Combined with the counter stools, the high tables are also ideal for furnishing project spaces so that people sitting or standing are at the same level.

The new Occo Conference and table models are available from June 2020.

You can find more information about Occo in Wilkhahn’s digital brochure.

Wilkhahn has also added to the Occo table range. The round, square, rectangular and oval shapes coordinate with the four-leg, solid wood base frames on the chairs, not just due to their solid oak table tops but also with appropriate frames.
