At the DGNB’s 2022 Sustainability Day, versatile Wilkhahn seating was an ideal choice for people to perch on and talk about sustainable construction.

The DGNB’s 15-year anniversary at the Sustainability Day

The 2022 DGNB Sustainability Day on July 8 again focused on networking and talking to other industry professionals about sustainable construction. At a venue called Goldbergwerk in Fellbach near Stuttgart, construction and real estate professionals took the opportunity to find out about innovative solutions in the industry via presentations and discussions at the Marketplace of Ideas. The finalists of the DGNB Sustainability Challenge and sponsors presented themselves and their projects. Attendees also raised their glasses to the German Sustainable Building Council’s 15th anniversary.

Extreme weather events, soaring energy costs and commodity shortages have never made the DGNB’s work more urgent and important as it is today. As a result, the DGNB has evolved dynamically over the past few years so that its sustainable building certification has become a leading international standard. Wilkhahn has been a member of the German Sustainable Building Council since 2008. It’s already hosted several events with the DGNB and equipped the location for the anniversary with seating.

Wilkhahn’s hip Stand-up encourages a playful style of communication in different groups and enables healthy, dynamic sitting.

Dynamic seating by Wilkhahn

With its organic design and seat shells made of recyclable biocomposite, Wilkhahn’s new Yonda shell-structure chair (design: neunzig°design) reflects the German Sustainable Building Council’s sustainability mindset perfectly. This multipurpose shell-structure chair won in the Red Dot design award’s best of best category. Even as a version without upholstery, its ergonomic shell shape means superior comfort, which can be upgraded with soft felt pads or fitted seat cushioning.

The Sitzbock, created by RSW design studio, is even more versatile. This four-leg seat isn’t just a fun eye-catcher, it’s also easy to move and regroup in no time because it only weighs 4.8 kilos. Consequently, it’s the ideal item of furniture for spontaneous interaction in various constellations. The colorful Stand-up is also quick and easy to place in loosely arranged groups. This stool goes easy on the joints and muscles because it encourages active sitting and hips to rotate.

The DGNB’s Sustainability Day showed how ideal Wilkhahn’s innovative seating is for events with a relaxed vibe that are all about networking in flexible groups and ergonomic comfort during presentations. The Yonda shell-structure chair, Stand-up stool or Sitzbock proved to be flexible, lightweight items of furniture for the industry event.
