Over 300 guests from the architecture and design community came to Wilkhahn’s stylish party on the premises of the historic Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan on Thursday, 11 April 2019. The company used the international Salone del Mobile as an opportunity to present the Wilkhahn furniture collection, which was shown for the first time at Orgatec 2018. Various settings were created in the space above the former tennis court belonging to the listed villa to present the modular, upholstered Insit range (design: Wolfgang C.R. Mezger), the slender OCCO SC shell chair (design: jehs+laub), the dynamic Intra conference chair (design: Phoenix Design), the free-to-move AT task chair with its elevated sitting position (design: Wilkhahn) and the height-adjustable Timetable Lift table (design: Andreas Störiko).
Guests were given the chance to visit the villa, which was designed by Milan’s Novecento architect Piero Portaluppi and virtually all of its mix of rationalism and art deco has been preserved faithfully throughout. President Dr Jochen Hahne also took the opportunity to introduce the new international sales director, Thomas Knobloch, and the new marketing director, Tobias Darnstädt. Following the humorous speeches, the film on Wilkhahn’s free-to-move AT task chair was shown. The chairs themselves were very popular throughout the evening and put through their paces by guests. Guests enjoyed Aperol Spritz, a lavish buffet and danced and partied to live music until the small hours.
Also on display in Milan were the Sitzbock sitting-standing stools and the Landing wall elements (both designed by Rudolph Schelling Webermann).
