High-End Furniture with Cutting-Edge Style

02.11.2021

In 2011, Wilkhahn boldly promised that its Graph chair range by Stuttgart-based designers Markus Jehs and Jürgen Laub would revolutionize the conference furnishing segment. And it kept its word. A decade later, the chair family encompasses eight models plus a table range and is a new go-to option among high-end conference furniture. It’s no surprise that Graph doesn’t just play a role in contemporary boardrooms the world over, but repeatedly features in movie productions as well as series on TV and online. Governments have also discovered the tangible and symbolic qualities of this style icon. On September 9, after major refurbishment, Germany’s Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament was reopened. Politicians now sit on Graph chairs and engage in democratic debate here.

Graph iconic edition marks tenth anniversary
For the anniversary edition, the designers played with contrasts (charactersistic of Graph) in the upholstery too.
Even the standard upholstery stands apart for its perfectly stitched covers and frame fully fitted with foam, extra padding and wave springs. These details are normally only encountered in exclusive upholstered furniture. The combination of the two elastic Powerjoint supports at the front and the supporting leaf springs at the back generates springy comfort in all directions. For the iconic edition, upholstery foam, laminated on both sides, is added to part of the seat and backrest cover. Stylish, diamond-shaped top stitching is used to sew the foam to the leather cover. Due to all the many, three-dimensional mini cushions created, the upholstery offers superior comfort. It also lends the chair a unique appearance and the centuries-old top stitching method adds a touch of luxurious quality. And together with the elegant, iconographic shape of the chair, the result is a seminal symbol with an aesthetic all of its own.

Graph is so distinctive for the way that contrasts are played with to form a special piece of furniture. The contrast between straight lines and organic curves, hard and soft materials, industrial-standard perfection and superb craftsmanship is also continued in the top-stitched upholstery. From conference seating to a mobile executive chair
The iconic edition is available in all frame variants and only with a high back and leather covers. It comes as a conference chair with a four-star base on glides or casters, mobile models with five-star bases and precision-adjustable heights to an executive chair with active rocking technology (integrated in the seat) in order to encourage dynamic sitting. Customers can choose between hard-wearing, semi-aniline or super-soft, vegetable-tanned bullhide leathers in black and dark brown.

Unfortunately, however, the Graph Iconic Editions aren’t available until February 2022.
