In view of the pandemic, climate crisis and geopolitical upheaval, the conditions under which buildings are planned, designed and constructed alter just as dynamically as the usage concepts. How do we factor in rising unpredictability? On June 28, office solutions provider STREIT Service & Solutions and Wilkhahn invited people to come and find out at the VIP event space in the new Europa Park stadium in Freiburg, Germany.
Wilkhahn’s Burkhard Remmers explained the core dimensions of a future-proof office building, based on the example of the digital human-centered workplace concept, which was created with architectural studio 1zu33 for a fictitious publishing house in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn. Antonino Vultaggio from HPP Architekten then gave an interesting talk on the stadium’s planning complexities and the sustainable construction concept. Over 70 guests listened to the two fascinating keynote speeches, which had been previously approved as official upskilling sessions by the state of Baden-Württemberg’s chamber of architects.
Guests were then able to discuss the key issues of both speeches in an informal way and enjoy the hospitality on offer. Many also took the opportunity to explore the exceptionally sustainably designed Yonda shell-structure chair range in a small exhibition space and try out the highly dynamic IN office chair. After all, during his welcoming speech, Clemens Imberi, head of the STREIT Inhouse business unit, did point out that his company had furnished all the headquarters of hip club SC Freiburg with IN office chairs and Occo conference chairs.
In other words, speakers, employees and attendees all had an inspiring evening, which was organized perfectly by the host in an unusual location.
