At the beginning of the year, Wilkhahn already received an award in the “Innovative Interior” category at the Iconic Awards 2020 by the German design council. Now the jury of the iF-Design Award is also honouring the renowned manufacturer from Bad Münder. From a total of 7,300 entries from 56 countries, the oldest independent design institution awarded Wilkhahn with prizes for two different products: the dynamic conference chair Intra and the modular conference table range Versa.
While the homely, elegant Intra swivel chair designed by Phoenix Design impresses with invisibly integrated synchronous mechanism and dynamic seating comfort, Versa reflects the collaborative needs of a contemporary office environment and stands for flexible communication. At the heart of the range are the elegant, one-piece die-cast aluminium base frames, which are connected by bayonet locks to table tops in various geometries and formats. This means that suitable tables and table systems can be configured for almost any application, which can be set up and changed without tools in no time at all.
Wilkhahn has already been awarded the coveted iF seal several times. Most recently, the mAx folding table (Andreas Störiko), the Metrik cantilever chair (design: whiteID) and the Occo office chair (design: jehs+laub) were among the winners. Anyone wishing to browse through six decades of outstanding Wilkhahn design history is recommended to visit the Wilkhahn section on the iF website.
The festive award ceremony for the iF Design Award will take place for the first time on May 4th at Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin.
