Meetings at the Zeitgeist Hotel

05.02.2021

The hotel, located near the train station, is considered one of the most attractive in Vienna. Its superb location and public transport links mean that almost all destinations in Vienna are within easy reach. Rooms that are exquisitely furnished and offerings such as a sauna and infrared cabin, a gym, e-vehicle chargers, bikes and a workout and chillout area in the courtyard really make the hotel a relaxing place to stay. So it’s no surprise that the hotel garnered the Tripadvisor® Travellers’ Choice award in 2020.

To create a perfect feel-good atmosphere for conferences and large festive occasions, the hotel director wanted a redesigned mezzanine that goes that extra mile. The result is a stylish, appealing atmosphere with natural materials, high-quality furnishings, state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment and first-class tables and chairs for up to 140 people. For maximum flexibility, the seven spaces are 18 to 217 square metres in size with fixtures and fittings to match.

And thanks to the versatile table ranges, these spaces can be booked and configured for all sorts of events. Smart technologies, which switch translucent glass partitions to frosted ones, illuminated ceilings that imitate the progression of daylight and therefore follow natural biorhythms, or custom-controlled lighting, heating and air conditioning are all geared to the needs of the people concerned. Fresh air is used to air the spaces, which also come with state-of-art camera and IT equipment for online events and livestreams.

Small meeting rooms are located behind printed glass partitions, which, at the touch of a button, can turn from transparent to frosted glass for extra privacy. Furnished here with the versatile Versa table range (design: Wolfgang C.R. Mezger) and Occo task chairs (design: Jehs & Laub).

In the city centre but still outdoors: in addition to the conference rooms, the mezzanine also has a stylish patio, where weatherproof Sitzbocks (design: RSW) invite people at conferences or weddings to mingle.

The large conference space with its parquet flooring can be partitioned in multiple ways and leads into the garden. It features the classic, high-quality, stylish Confair folding tables (design: Andreas Störiko) and the stackable, spacious Metrik cantilever chairs (design: White ID).

The comfortable Metrik cantilever chairs with their sculptural look, the wood edging on the table tops with their impact-resilient profiles and the fabric-covered Stand-up stools lend the space a professional yet home-like appearance.

Timetable Lift (design: Andreas Störiko) is used as the moderator’s desk. It features cordless, battery-operated height adjustment so that it can be raised for standing-up meetings and its flip-top table top doubles as a magnetic whiteboard that can be written on.

We were looking for seminar and banquet tables that we could transport in our relatively small elevators, and chairs that would be suitable for both seminars and evening functions. We were very impressed with the flip-top tables’ excellent quality and functionality. When we factored in the reconfiguration costs and the man hours, Wilkhahn’s products came top. Our guests love the furniture and our co-workers are delighted that it’s so easy to handle. And that’s what really counts.
