An Australian Interior Design Award is a much sought-after accolade by interior designers down under. The competition pays tribute to interiors in virtually all sorts of places – from shops, bars and restaurants to offices to public spaces such as museums, universities and train stations. The projects can have been completed all over the globe, making the accolades coveted items everywhere.
The competition is organised by the Design Institute of Australia, the professional association of Australian designers. Some 203 projects have now been nominated and from which judges will pick the winners. Wilkhahn chairs and tables are included in three of the nominated projects, which are in the running for the sought-after prize:
The International Towers Carpe Diem Community by Geyer with Graph conference chair (design: jehs + laub): Click here for more info about the project.
The Marrickville library by BVN with Aline skid-base chair: Click here for more info about the project.
The Norton Rose Fulbright Sydney office building by Carr with the Logon table range (design: Andreas Störiko): Click here for more info about the project.
The winners will be announced on 29 May 2020 during a big ceremony, which will take place online this year due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Cross your fingers that one of the Wilkhahn projects is chosen because the architecture and design studios certainly deserve to win.
