The Federal Ecodesign Award pays tribute to excellent ecodesign. This year, the competition for outstanding ecological design, jointly organized by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, the Federal Environment Agency and the International Design Center (IDZ), is again being launched throughout Europe. Consequently, we’re all the more delighted that the Yonda shell chair range is in the running for the sought-after accolade.
The judges panel, consisting of environmental and design experts, nominated neunzig° design’s sustainable shell-structure chair range for the 2022 Federal Ecodesign Award. Some 28 of the approximately 300 entries submitted and 137 admitted to the judging panel will now enter the competition for the most sustainable design. The projects and products need to meet stringent criteria in terms of environmental friendliness and sustainability. Yonda’s nomination is a further chapter in the success story of Wilkhahn chairs. In 2012, the 3D ON office chair won the prestigious prize.

The entries admitted to the panel will be on display in a public exhibition in the premises of feldfünf in the Metropolenhaus Berlin from October 1 to 9 (preview on September 30).
The federal environment minister Steffi Lemke will announce the winners of this year’s competition during the award ceremony at the Federal Ministry for the Environment on December 5. Now we just need to cross our fingers. As always, we’ll be keeping you up to date here on the blog if there’s any news.
