Contemporary interpretation of a cantilever chair: Metrik with a black seat shell and black chrome-plated frame.

Since the famous designs by Mart Stam, Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, the cantilever chair has been one of the most exceptionally attractive types of seating. As a result, there are numerous versions of it today where the seats and backrests are attached to a weight-bearing tubular steel structure or in which seat shells are suspended. The Wilkhahn Metrik cantilever chair adapted this typical design principle so that the seat directly merges into the tubular steel frame. Due to the distinctive but understated design and choice of colourways, Metrik can be combined with diverse table concepts and office chairs.

A new black chrome-plated frame type now joins the models with a coated or bright chrome-plated frame that is colour matched with the seat shell. This surface is much harder and tougher than the coating. Metrik now comes in a stylish black through and through and is easy to stack and stow away compactly, making it ideal for co-working spaces and flexible office environments.
