The Chamber of Commerce of Luxembourg not only represents the interests of more than 90,000 Luxembourg companies. It also offers its members and their guests a modern conference centre with numerous halls of different sizes and meeting rooms. The building, opened in 2004 and built according to the plans of French architect Claude Vasconi (1940-2009), is located in the middle of the Kirchberg business district. In addition to the 6,500 square metre conference and training centre, the striking four-unit building with its complex glass façade houses numerous professional associations and administrations on a total area of around 25,000 square metres.

The Luxembourg specialists for interior architecture and design “inside”, namely CEO Jan Seligson, were commissioned with a new interior design for the conference rooms, which had been in use for almost 15 years. The heart of the new design is the large conference hall with 50 seats. The interior-outfitters designed it in cooperation with the Israeli design studio Samuelov (Tel Aviv) as a noble casket in a colour triad of matt black, natural (wood) tones and radiant white. Under a clearly structured suspended ceiling made of matt black perforated sheets, 50 Wilkhahn Graph conference chairs gather around a horseshoe-shaped conference table made of the mineral-organic composite material Corian®. While two sides of the room are completely glazed – but can be darkened if necessary – the long rear wall is panelled with fine oak wood.

The table not only integrates the complex conference technology on the inside, it also displays a special design feature: The silhouette of the Luxembourg skyline is cut out of its interior wall, backed with wood and illuminated. A related graphic element can also be found in the acoustically effective carpet: Its motif can be read as an abstract, seemingly pixelated urban landscape of Luxembourg. Wilkhahn’s finest conference chair Graph (design: jehs+laub) – here in a matt black leather finish – complements this setting perfectly and at the same time offers meeting attendants outstanding seating comfort.

The Graph conference chair from Wilkhahn is not just very comfortable, its elegant silhouette also fits in well with our graphically inspired concept. It's clear yet organic line creates a lively, unobstrusive contrast to the white conference table.
