Courage rewarded: Wilkhahn gave a convincing performance at The Design Annual with a media-real staging of "design made in germany" [05-23-2006] At the premiere of The Design Annual, some 9,000 visitors experienced the Wilkhahn stand as the highlight of the new exhibition format. The concept for the arrangement of the exhibition stands in the Frankfurt Festhalle created an unusually relaxed and refined atmosphere. Visitors made their way round the exhibition like in an old town with small, winding lanes. The Wilkhahn stand was quite a sensation: who would have the courage to show just four single products on an exhibition space measuring some 69 sqm and correspondingly cost-intensive?
The Wilkhahn platform for the event, designed by the wiege design studio, consistently backed the power of reduction to essentials. The focus was on four milestones of Wilkhahn development which are regarded as models of excellence of "design made in germany":
What is special about it: the exhibits featured a virtual form of representation as a silhouette in the prolongation of the axis of vision. A human silhouette "discovered" the functional qualities of various furniture ranges: he pivoted, folded, rotated, sat, carried and stacked - and encouraged the visitor to try out what he had seen for himself on the exhibit.
Wilkhahn had the courage to implement the principle of high-quality reduction to essentials throughout its exhibition stand concept too. The result: an absolutely emotional experience with unanimously enthusiastic feedback from the visitors. > Overview |
