| Wilkhahn is one of the worldwide Expo projects [Die Welt, 6-16-2001] The article by Ernst August Ginten describes why the Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund (DGB, German Federation of Trade Unions) is presenting Wilkhahn at Expo 2000. Based on Wilkhahn as an example, the DGB wants to demonstrate that safety at work, workers' participation and respect of ecological standards do not have to be neglected in the process of meeting global competition. The article provides some insight into Wilkhahn's corporate management and philosophy and gives an outline of the exhibition with which Wilkhahn is presenting itself to the public: one of the plant's pavilions in Bad Münder will house a project which the DGB, the Bundesanstalt für Arbeitsschutz und Arbeitsmedizin, the AOK Niedersachsen and the Institut für Arbeits- und Sozialhygiene in Karlsruhe have collaborated on for many years. back |
