| Roomware - furniture that goes online [Die Welt, 03-12-2002] Die Welt featured a report on Wilkhahn's presentation at CeBIT, in collaboration with experts from the Fraunhofer Institute, of "tables, chairs and walls with large-format displays which allow a completely new form of project and research work". The furniture can be easily and directly networked with other computers, whereby several people can intervene simultaneously in what is happening. The newspaper quoted Dr. Dr. Norbert Streitz, who is working on future work environments at the Fraunhofer-IPSI: "Future buildings should serve to enhance communication and, at the same time, be communicative and cooperative towards those living, working and visiting them." Wilkhahn is the first office furniture manufacturer to bring such Roomware Components up to the serial production stage. back |
