Wilkhahn's new Internet Website

[03-13-2002] Wilkhahn, internationally acclaimed furniture manufacturer from Bad Münder, Germany, presented its newly formulated corporate identity and its new corporate design at the end of 2001. Following on from a new image publication entitled "Thinking", from the opening of Wilkhahn Forums in Düsseldorf and Rotterdam and the product brochure for Sito, a new cantilever chair, Wilkhahn's new website has now gone online. The website has been designed not only in line with Wilkhahn's corporate design, but it also offers an abundance of additional information and interactive features for various interest groups and target groups.

Wilkhahn spent a good nine months working together with the Frankfurt Internet Agency, Neue Digitale, on the structure and contents of the new Wilkhahn website. The design concept was based on the guidelines prepared by the CI Agency, Design.net, who revised and further developed Wilkhahn's corporate design. The visual appearance is characterized by clear division of surfaces, the distinct use of the corporate colour green and clear arrangement.

Clearly structured navigation and interaction
Top priority was given to extremely simple and clear navigation. The visitors to the website can find their way around immediately and change over from one thematic area to another with ease. In terms of content, the website also provides a host of extensive information for various target groups. The topics "Design", "Products" and "Inspiration" are presented in an entertaining manner and in considerable detail. If you want to know more, you can browse through information on designers of Wilkhahn products, corporate history, reference projects, current company projects or special features pages dealing with competitions, exhibitions or architecture. Information on job opportunities, vacancies, trade contacts, technical service and press articles make the website equally interesting for journalist, architects, customers, specialist dealers and job applicants. In addition to E-mail contact addresses and procedures for ordering brochures, etc., you will also find information on direct contacts at Wilkhahn to simplify and shorten communication channels.

Added value due to updated downloads
The website is not only an information and contact medium, but it also offers direct work support: journalists, architects and specialist dealers can download texts and select any material from the Wilkhahn image database they may require. Via the "shopping basket" function, any image can be ordered in the desired size and resolution per E-mail, ISDN or per CD. The same applies to continuously updated CAD data, with which Wilkhahn products can be directly included in the specification process. The data format is compatible with almost all customary CAD programmes, thus making tedious conversion superfluous. Wilkhahn is currently in the final project phase of this new CAD system. The data will be accessible on the website from approximately mid-May.

Editorial system for flexible and dynamic updating
All thematic areas are updated by the respective departments at Wilkhahn. Use of the RedDot 4 Professional editorial system means that updating contents becomes child's play. All in all, a perfect basis for using the website as a modern, lively and dynamic medium.
