Neos range. One size fits all

[04-12-2005] As announced at Orgatec 2004, Neos, the new office chair from Wilkhahn, is going into serial production according to schedule. The market launch is taking place in April at 110 key distributors simultaneously.

Boasting coherent form, inviting comfort and extremely simple operation to promote healthy sitting, Neos is an ergonomic task chair for a wide range of applications that merges perfectly with any interior design. Optimal seated comfort and intuitive operation of adjustment functions ensure that the user feels comfortable even before sitting. This is due to a special pressure spring with a linear characteristic providing an adjustment range to cater for 40 - 120 kg users.

The concept of Neos therefore consistently follows the principle of "sitting without a driving licence", which has been a guiding principle at Wilkhahn for over 25 years:

  • with the simplest and most intuitive operation of all adjustment functions, such as seat height, backrest height, armrest position and adjustment to accommodate the user's weight
  • with synchronous adjustment of the generous, resilient back shell ensuring conformity with individual body types
  • and with automatic promotion of frequent changes in posture to keep muscles, metabolism and circulation in good shape.

Neos range (design: wiege): all ergonomic functions are integrated in a simple, self-explanatory and attractive form.

Two paddles and a conveniently located crank handle make it child's play for the user to adjust Neos while remaining seated. All functions are integrated in a calm, pleasant and self-explanatory form for optimal seated comfort and design appeal.

Neos range (design: wiege): simplicity of form, intuitive operation and optimal seated comfort are the special features of the new office chair.

Versions
Neos is fitted with an "envelope" backrest that is height adjustable: take hold of it and just push it up or down. The 3-D version is also standard for the armrests in black through-dyed, glass fibre-reinforced polyamide with a resilient yet tactile armrest pad in polyurethane. An optional feature: adjustment of the seat depth, with automatic adjustment of the lumbar support. Seat and backrest shell and synchro-mechanism cover are in black-grey through-dyed polypropylene. Depending on requirements, the five-star base is available in glass fibre-reinforced polyamide, through-dyed in black-grey, or in die-cast aluminium, polished or bright chromium-plated. All plain fabrics from the Wilkhahn collection, including the new "Nimbus" collection, are available as upholstery material.

Neos range (design: wiege): although the backrest, the seat mechanism and the armrests are individually adjustable they form a harmonious whole. The coherent overall impression is underlined by detailed design and black through-dyed materials.

Areas of application
Design that integrates all functions and the intelligent reduction of components to essentials allows an attractive price for using Neos as a basic range, for example in back offices. Similarities with the Modus and Solis office chair families permit coherent design concepts, ranging from back office, and conference and training environments to a top executive's office.

Neos range (design: wiege): the understated, clear design merges perfectly with any interior, and is shown here in combination with the DinA range of tables and storage units.

Neos has recently been awarded the internationally renowned iF Award for Product Design.
