Dubai International Airport, Dubai

Pulsating centre in the desert

Vast oilfields, growing industrial and trading activities and an increasing number of tourists have made Dubai one of the most important transit airports in the Arab world. A new terminal had to be built to deal with the rapid growth in traffic through Dubai. A deepwater harbour, a free port zone and Arab business acumen, in addition to the oil business, have today made Dubai a pulsating industrial and trading centre for the region. The Emirate has also been systematically developed into an exclusive holiday centre with wonderful beaches and luxury hotels.

Dubai's strategically favourable position has triggered exponential growth in passenger traffic through the airport, also as a hub between Europe and Asia. Its excellent facilities and duty-free shopping mean that it has become one of the busiest and the most popular airports in the world.

The new terminal marks yet another symbol of modernity, openness and top quality. Fine materials such as granite and steel, the futurist design language of the architectural concept and the high quality of the entire interior underline the aim of creating an absolutely first-class airport.
